We would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Maria Endaya on passing a course on ‘dental sedation nursing’. Maria is one of the dental nurses at Brighton Implant Clinic and we take great pride in her latest achievement.
Upon passing this course, Maria now has her NEBDN (National Examining Board for Dental Nurses) certificate for dental sedation nursing. This is the gold standard for training and educating nurses about dental sedation and it will allow her to take on a larger role at BIC.
In this training, she has learned about IV, RA, and oral sedation. Through this course, she gained an understanding of the pharmacology of different sedation techniques and the practical application of sedation as a dental nurse.
By obtaining this certificate, Maria took a big step toward expanding her skills and furthering her career as a dental nurse. Maria’s new certification is significant because sedation plays an important role in helping the Brighton Implant Clinic team provide the best possible experience to our patients.
How Sedation Helps Our Patients
Depending on the circumstances and the needs of the patient, dentists can use different levels of sedation and different techniques to prevent pain, manage anxiety, and ensure comfort during dental procedures.
One of the key benefits of sedation is that it can help patients who suffer from dental phobia. Many people experience fear and anxiety when it comes to dental treatment. This causes them to put off treatment until it can’t be avoided. In many cases, this can result in the condition getting worse.
With a competent dental team and the right sedation techniques, the fear and anxiety can be managed. This allows these patients to get the care they need when they need it. With the ability to get the care they need in a timely fashion, it usually leads to a better outcome for the patient.
Maria put a lot of time and effort into reaching this goal, and we couldn’t be more proud. This latest accomplishment is a demonstration of just how dedicated she is to providing patients with the best care possible. At Brighton Implant Clinic, we always encourage our staff to better themselves both professionally and personally. We look forward to having Maria on the BIC team for many years and hope to play a role in helping her grow as a professional.
